Your privacy is important to us.  The UK Indies App provides information and access to content by programme makers and information on markets of interest to the UK Independent sector (‘the Service’)  Producer Alliance and Cinema and Television (‘Pact’) is the owner and controller of the UK Indies App.   

The UK Indies App is supported by development funding from UK Trade and Investment (‘UKTI’) a government department, further information about UKTI can be found at www.ukti.gov.uk.

This Privacy and Cookies policy provides information about the personal information that Pact collects through the UK Indies App, and the ways in which Pact uses, collects and stores personal information.

Your use of this UK Indies App indicates you have read and accepted our privacy practices.

This Privacy Policy, like the online medium itself, is subject to change, so visitors should review this Privacy Policy from time to time.

 
Pact reserves the right to alter, modify, update, add to, subtract from or otherwise change this Privacy Policy at any time for any reason or no reason at all. We will update any changes here, and any changes will become effective immediately upon being posted unless stated otherwise. This update will be reflected by the effective date at the end of this Privacy Policy.

What Information is collected?

Personally Identifiable Information: Personally identifiable information ("PII") is information that identifies you or could reasonably be used to identify you personally (such as your real name, address, phone number, e-mail address, Access Code and Users’ Internet Protocol (“IP”) address). If you are required to register, we may ask you to provide us with certain PII. The Access Code is a form of identification which you need to use when registering and will be  given to you at market.  It is intended to link your personal information to the market where you were first given the Access Code. Providing us with information about yourself is voluntary, and you can always choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of or participate in the UK Indies App.


Corporate Changes

Pact reserves the right to disclose, share and/or otherwise transfer user information, including without limitation PII, in connection with a corporate merger, acquisition, consolidation, the sale of substantially all of its assets, or other fundamental corporate change, whatever form it may take.

Transfer of Site

Without in any way limiting the rights Pact has reserved above in the event of a "Corporate Change", Pact shall be entitled to transfer information it collects, including without limitation PII, to any third party that assumes, acquires or is otherwise authorized to take control over this website, provided such third party has agreed to use your PII in accordance with protections that in all material respects are the same as or more protective than those set out in this Privacy Policy.

Aggregate Information

Pact may disclose non-identifying, aggregated user statistics to third parties for a variety of purposes, including describing Pact's services to prospective partners and other third parties.

Please be aware that when you are navigating the UK Indies App, or viewing an e-mail or link to an outside page as a result of the information provided by the UK Indies App or other content provided by Pact, you may have the opportunity to click on links that take you outside Pact's service to other websites or online content that are beyond Pact's control. For example, you may encounter links to webmaster program participant sites, or links from sponsors or partners, which may include Pact’s logo as part of a co-branding arrangement. If you "click" on the link to such a third party, the "click" takes you to a third party's website or online content. Pact has no control over and is not responsible for the content of any third party sites to which you link. In addition, these other websites have their own information collection and privacy protection practices that may differ from Pact's, and we suggest you review the privacy practices of any other website you visit.

 
UK Indies App/ Pact Data collection

UK Indies App has an Access Code this Access Code will relate to the information you provide at registration.  The Access Code is granted to you by Pact. Pact will information collected for the purposes of improving and reviewing services and access to UK Indies information and markets.

 
The information that is collected at registration will be anonymized and passed to UKTI and other third parties as deemed necessary for review and information purposes by Pact.  Such anonymous information will only be used to show and demonstrate market trends and interest in the UK Independent production sector. By registering you agree to Pact using your information and passing this information on to UKTI and third parties for monitoring purposes.
 
Pact will at its discretion notify you of added programme content, market information or general information/ news which Pact considers may be of interest to users of the UK Indies App. By your use of this UK Indies App you consent to information being pushed to you as a result of your registration to the UK Indies App.
 
If you do not wish this information do not use this UK Indies App.
 
Pact will not notify you if information is deleted from the UK Indies App, however it may chose to do at Pact’s sole discretion.
 
If you wish to use the ‘Express an Interest Service’ this is an automated service where you can contact the programme makers to notify them of your interest of their programme. This automated service sends to the programme makers a notification of your name and email address and will advise that you are expressing an interest in their programme via the UK Indies App server.
 
It is at the programme maker and/or controller’s discretion to contact you following your use of the Express an Interest Service.  Your use of the Express an Interest confirms that you agree for the UK Indies App to send your email and contact details to the programme/content owners. You agree to only send a maximum of 3 notifications via the Express an Interest Service as any more may be deemed to be spam and considered a breach of these Terms of Use.
 
Pact is not responsible and has no control or ability to encourage or foster any further dialogue or contact with the Production Company and/or controllers of the content.

 Where the Express an Interest Service fails and your interest has not been sent to the production company you will not hold Pact liable or responsible in any circumstances for the failure to make contact with the progamme makers.

In the event we are able to notify you that the Express an Interest Service is not working Pact may attempt to do so although Pact are in not obligated or required to do so.
 
This is a service is intended to help foster dialogue it is not in any way intended to replace your current practice.
 
Your Express an Interest message is not copied, kept or archived by UK Indies App it is automatically deleted once it is sent to the production company.
 
Once a message has been delivered, it no longer resides on Pact servers.
 
The UK Indies App will retain confirmation that you have used the Express an Interest in a programme, this will be compiled and retained only for your own history purposes as which programme makers you have contacted via this service.
 
Your Choices

You may, of course, decline to submit Personally Identifiable Information through the UK Indies App, in which case the UK Indies App may not be able to provide certain services to you.

 
If you do not agree with our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use please delete your account, uninstall the UK Indies App mobile application and discontinue use of the UK Indies Service; your continued usage of the UK Indies Service will signify your assent to and acceptance of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Special Note to International Users

The UK Indies App is hosted in the United Kingdom (‘UK’) and is intended for users to access content of UK Independent Production Companies. If you are a user accessing the UK Indies App or Pact website Site and Service from the European Union, Asia, or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure, that differ from United Kingdom please be advised that through your continued use of the UK Indies App and Pact Service, which are governed by UK legislation in relation to data protection, this Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Use, you are transferring your personal information to the United Kingdom and you expressly consent to that transfer and consent to be governed by UK laws for these purposes.

Access to personal information

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you and to have any errors corrected. If you would like to make a request please write to us at the address below. It is important that you keep your registration information up to date this is your responsibility.

 
Please note we have the right to charge you a fee in accordance with UK legislation.

 Our Commitment to Data Security

UK Indies App uses reasonable and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. Using unsecured wifi or other unprotected networks is not recommended.  We cannot, however where you use such unprotected networks ensure or warrant the security of the UK Indies App or when you use the Express an Interest Service you do so at your own risk.

 
If Pact learns of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. Pact may post a notice on the UK Indies App if a security breach occurs; Pact however is not obliged to do so.
 
Additional information

At times Pact may delete information where we become aware that it is inaccurate or we have received a complaint about the use of the information provided to you or your use of the UK Indies App. Pact will not notify you in this instance.
